Labor Day Monday

We DO NOT have school Monday, we will have it Friday!!!

This week was very busy and the Second Graders learned A LOT! This week we had our pictures done- I will have those headed home as soon as they arrive.
We talked about sentences and their structure- mostly subjects and predicates. We had a great week talking about Saco and mapping our town in Social Studies. Our first math chapter was more of a review if anything for the kids- we worked with base ten blocks, counting tens and ones and practicing swapping blocks to make new numbers. We also were able to do Art with Ms. Julie! This was a hit and the kids will be bringing these home by the middle of September, until then we will have them hanging in the hall. I just want to make you aware that Thursdays are our "test" days- the kids will have a Reading/ Writing test and Spelling test. This week was our first run through, I did this so that the students could know what to expect and so that I can see what I can expect from them. If your child is tired its because they have been putting forth so much effort and working hard this week! Have a great weekend!

Week One-- All Done!

Welcome Families!!

I am so excited to be writing the first post of the year!! Thank you for allowing me to teach your children~ I am sure they are exhausted after our whirlwind week but rest assured it will get better! I am guessing many of you have been hearing how much HARDER second grade is than first! This is true second grade will be more of a challenge but I know that each kiddo has it in them to be successful and put forth effort everyday! I will be posting each week so check back for updates!! Go Panthers!!
