Crazy December Days

Hey Parents!!  December is a month that just gets away from me! I apologize for not posting this earlier. As you all know we will soon have winter break!! This is always a nice time to just relax with your children, I would like to ask that they still do some time of learning- this can be reading or some type of research...... Just to keep their minds active.

We will also be having our elementary field trip on Friday the 20th and we plan on going to Glasgow to watch Walking With Dinosaurs! This looks like a fantastic film and I am so excited to watch it-

The holiday program will be tonight at seven I look forward to seeing all of you at school!

I have posted some photos from class of the students and of our mischievous little elf.

There are so many reasons to be thankful!!

Some of my favorites included: ~Life  ~My Bed ~Nature

We have been so busy!! We made turkeys..... wait those are not turkeys--- we gave them a disguise!

What beautiful art work!

We made fingerprint turkeys!! They turned out so awesome!

Our art with Mrs. Julie- they have received so many compliments!

We have a new class friend!!

Day One: We had our Elf friend arrive on Monday the package was cold- It was from the North Pole!!

After lunch Twinkles Triourus wrote our class a note about nose picking!!

Day Two:

Twinkles thought glitter was snow and then left a trail of glitter up to our owls on the book case!

Day Three: Twinkles was caught watching YouTube with Quincy's headphones!!  He was watching this: Elf Caught Moving

50 Days of Fabulous!!

Today we celebrated being in school for 50 Days!! The kids had a great time..... we listened to original Rock N' Roll we learned about how people lived in the 50's, how they dressed, danced, and things that were important to them! We also learned about the things that the 50's gave to us- Disneyland, McDonald's, Passenger airplanes, highways, a population boost, suburbs, credit cards and sooooo many more things!!
Our List of what being 50 years old is like..... Oh I laughed so hard!

Making our people from the 50's!

They Turned out cute- These were the models.....

We still had our normal tests but there was more fun thrown into the mix than usual. We watched a few videos including Marty McFly singing some awesome music and then a documentary on the era of the 50's they were both pretty brief but very descriptive! Make sure to ask your kids about their day, we ended with root beer floats!

All in all it was a very productive week! I am experimenting with a few aspects of the classroom, I am incorporating a new "pilot" math program with the kids it is very interactive and I can see a difference in the kids and how much more appealing math is to all of them! I personally love the program and hope your children have been chatting with you about it! Another dimension I am working with is moving our reading, reading workshop and writing workshop into a different approach as well...... I will keep you updated on these things but for now enjoy the weekend!
